The Easiest Day to Date Night Outfit

I’ve always loved the idea of dressing up for date night, but in reality, I make minor changes to the outfit I’ve been wearing all day. This usually includes bigger earrings, more makeup, and adding heels (or my fave booties!). I’ve been living in this faux leather jacket and I gotta say, it’s QUITE the steal! (Clearly many of you have heard, because it’s currently sold out of S/M/L! … but don’t lose heart! Nordstrom is pretty good at restocking. I would just keep checking back.) Speaking of steals, these sunglasses… I love designer shades, but with my luck I would probably sit on them or Charley would find them and break them somehow! These mirrored lenses are stunners for less than $10. You heard me! TEN dollars. No brainer here.

I’ve been posting a lot less lately and I’m so sorry! There’s been a lot going on in my personal life that has kept me from devoting the time I’d like to spend blogging (sickness has been a big one!). It may be February, but the new year is still on my mind and I’ve been reflecting on this blog and thinking about the “big picture” a lot. You may have noticed I’ve added a “Health” section (that is currently empty!!!! lol). I’ve decided to create more of an emphasis on health here at Happily Lindsey since it’s a huge part of who I am and I love encouraging others in their journey to health. I LOVE style, don’t get me wrong, and I love sharing my love for style with you all; however, health is a huge part of my life and is something I’ve decided to focus on again with renewed energy (“again” being post baby!). I want to practice more restraint with sugar and refined everything and I want to include you all in this goal! I also want to get back into my yoga practice. I seriously forgot how amazing I feel after I do it. Whatever it is that makes you feel better, do it! Sometimes the biggest hurdle in accomplishing a goal is getting over that mental block!

I’ve never written a recipe, but just yesterday I experimented with riced cauliflower and I’m in love! Anyone else fallen for this cruciferous goodness?! I was so inspired and I can’t wait to share the recipe with you all. I also created a delicious (and extremely filling!) oatmeal smoothie this afternoon. (I promise I’m not always this “Martha Stewart!”) It may not be super original, but I didn’t follow a recipe and just used whatever I thought sounded good, so I wanted to share, especially since it was so stinkin filling! Which is a good thing because man, I can SNACK like no other. Yes, I’m still breastfeeding but it’s nothing compared to what it used to be and I don’t even pretend to rely on that excuse anymore!!! 😉
