The gingham craze is real, you guys. And now I understand. I’ve seen it everywhere and I was somewhat neutral towards it. Until I saw this gem. I love the sleeves, clearly, but then let’s talk about that awesome bow! They’re really just two big sashes that you can tie in a bow or leave loosely tied for a different look. I’m a fan of both! Just wear a tank underneath if you don’t want to show any midriff, because it is a bit of a cropped blouse. I opted to cover my stomach here because… postpartum mom belly & diastasis recti….still working on it!! (yes, my ‘baby’ is almost 2 years old…and I’m still working on my stomach. The struggle is real, you guys!)
I’m typically a neutral lover. Give me all the white, grey and black things! But for whatever reason (maybe it’s the time of the year?!), I’m more open to color. I think it must be that it’s summer! I’m loving all things red. Like this red Coach tote (pst! It’s on MAJOR sale right now! I’m talking 50% off!). The inside is adorable. I love the bright and cheery floral print! Blue is a staple color for me around here, so cobalt or navy will always be welcome in my closet! But I definitely prefer to keep color to a minimum and use color sparingly. I like having pops of color in my outfits! And as far as prints go, I think gingham is a very smart print to invest in, especially for the summer months.
This darling black and white gingham blouse from StyleWe was just what my summer wardrobe needed! At first I was a bit intimidated by it (my thought when opening it: how the heck will I tie this?!!), but after messing with it a bit, I realized there are multiple ways to wear it. You can’t really go wrong! The neckline goes off a bit to the sides so you can have one shoulder off or wear them both toward the edges of the shoulders like I did here. This would also look so cute paired with high waisted denim! Ditch the tank underneath and just pair it with high waisted skinnies! So cute.
My poor white denim are in need of retiring! I need to replace them but I’ve just loved them so much. I think the search for a new pair needs to begin, though. It’s rather daring of me to wear white with an active toddler who is ALL BOY, but I love it too much to give it up! I’ll let you all know what I find. I know white denim can be intimidating and scary, but for me, it’s a staple and I wear them ALL THE TIME. You definitely don’t have to be a size 2 to wear them. (I’m case in point!) Just have to find a cut that you feel comfortable in and material that has a lot of give (but not too much to the point that they stretch out!). As I said, this will be a challenge, but I’m excited! I will definitely share once I find “the” ones!
In my last post with StyleWe, I shared how these blue heels have become a regular in my outfits. And you’ll find that they hold special meaning for me, too! I love how timeless they are and that they go with so much. I love nude and so many of my shoes are nude, but we all need color every once in awhile! Even us neutral lovers 😉
I hope you all have a very happy Fourth of July! Be safe and enjoy the holiday!
