BLANKNYC ‘Easy Rider’ Faux Leather Moto Jacket / Β Halogen ‘High/Low Wool & Cashmere Tunic Sweater / Faux Leather Leggings (cheap, linked 3 MUCH better options below) / Purse (old + sold out/ similar here) / Sam Edelman ‘Petty’ Chelsea Boot

I must be really into faux these days. It started out with faux fur and now I’m loving faux leather! This jacket is a dream and is currently on sale for less than $60 (yes, you heard that right!). We’re currently waiting for an ice/snow storm to hit and I’m just praying it’s the latter! Either way, this wool/cashmere blend sweater will be keeping me nice and toasty. I love the color of this sweater; so classic and timeless. It’s so soft and so cozy. Plus it’s longer in the back so you can wear leggings with confidence! πŸ˜‰

Cold Weather Wear // All About Comfort

It’s really gotten cold here this week and I’ve been all about comfy layers, including lots of sweatshirts, leggings and sneakers! Of course, I layer it underneath my big parka (also loving this one and this one with the faux fur + both at great price points!), but these layers help tremendously!

Thoughts on 2016 & the New Year + 2017 Planner Giveaway!

Thought on 2016 & the New Year + START Planner Giveaway // Happily Lindsey blog

Many of you probably have no clue that ‘Happily Lindsey’ is my second attempt at blogging. My first attempt was from a good place, but just SO wrong in SO many ways! First off, I called it ‘Buongiorno Fashion Blog’ because I was learning Italian and thought it’d be super cool to include Italian in my style blog’s name! haha (*insert face palm*)

I seriously started blogging in June of 2016 and really started doing my homework (and changed my blog’s name, of course!). Blogging has the appearance of being easy and not involving much work, but gosh that seriously couldn’t be any further from the truth! Blogging takes a lot of effort and successful bloggers DO THEIR HOMEWORK. It takes a lot of studying. You have to care about your Instagram feed and learn about things like search engine optimization (SEO). There are so many things you don’t realize you have to know/care about until you start studying blogging!

Blogging clicked once I started doing my homework and also after I realized that it takes a community to find happiness and success blogging. Something about becoming a mother made me realize that Β 1) you need the support of others (whatever you do, don’t go it alone!!), 2) you need to *promote* your blog content (this is key!), and 3) you have to flat out LOVE what you blog about. There will be highs and there will be lows, but if you love it enough, you will stick with it and see it through. Perhaps the instant bond I felt with other mothers made it click for me, but blogging is about connecting people and *helping* people. I realize that it may sound silly that a life and style blog could help people, but it does! Sharing sales and style ideas with others can actually make a difference. I know I personally turn to other fashion and lifestyle blogs for advice on beauty products, style trends, etc. before I purchase something!

It sounds clichΓ©, but once you turn your focus towards helping others, you’ll find happiness and true success.

As I look back on 2016, I’m humbled by how much I’ve learned, the relationships I’ve developed, and the opportunities I’ve had because of blogging. It was a very hard year, but it was also an exceptional year full of personal and professional growth. It’s important to look back and reevaluate our successes and failures. How else can we improve?!

Writing things down has always been extremely helpful for me. It helps me retain more in my poor brain that suffers from #pregnancybrain and #mombrain on the daily (I’m not pregnant, but I feel like it’s never left me and now has turned into #mombrain!). It keeps me sane and somewhat organized. Something about physically writing something down versus typing it into my phone makes it stick (I’m sure there have been studies about this!). I’ve always used a planner, but this year, I’ve finally found a planner that takes the gold.

Let me introduce you to START Planner! They have designed the best planners. I’m so blown away. They call themselves the master problem solvers, and that title couldn’t be more true! We all have the potential to reach our goals, but we have to write them down and have a clear picture of where we are going. No matter what your 2017 New Year’s goal or resolution is, START Planner has the tools to help you get there. They are masters at organization. And that is key. Organization helps us create a clear and defined path to help us reach our goals, whether they are financial, professional, health, or personal!

Click here to learn more about this planner.

Plaid Tunic c/o PinkBlush // White Jeans // Brown {DV by Dolce Vita} Boots (old, similar here & here) // Lipstick (‘Scarlet’) // Earrings

I must confess that I haven’t been blogging as much this week – I’ve been Christmas shopping instead! But when I saw this plaid and sequin tunic, I knew I needed to have it! It’s so comfy and perfect for adding a bit of festive glam to your holiday look. Not everyone has a ritzy holiday party to attend this season (raising my hand over here!), and although I’d love to wear a gown, this outfit is probably more of a realistic ensemble for my holiday activities ;). I plan on wearing this for exchanging gifts with my side of the family this year.

festive holiday coffee // My Christmas List {Happily Lindsey blog}

After doing a ton ofΒ online shopping, I’ve come up with some absolutely adorable things that I’m asking Santa for this year. Hope you enjoy!

It’s December, can you believe it?! Bring on all the Christmas-y things!

I *love* Christmas. Like I love love love it! I love the Christmas music, the Christmas lights, the gift giving, the hot cocoa, the mistletoe, the holiday bustle….you name it, I love it! It’s the most magical time of the year and despite the stresses of family gatherings and the crowds (anyone else hate the crowds?! I avoid the mall at all costs and prefer to do my shopping online, but seems like every year I have to make a trip to the mall anyway!), there’s just something so joyful about the holidays.

Holiday Gift Guide {For Under $50}

Post may contain affiliate links. Disclosure policy here.

the best gift ideas for under $50 // holiday gift guide {Happily Lindsey blog}

I LOVE holiday gift guides! I always get the best gift ideas from them and it really helps me solidify my own Christmas list! πŸ˜‰ But sometimes, I find the gift guides to be a bit unrealistic. I’m not necessarily rolling in the dough, and even if I were, I have a hard time buying presents for others that are more than $50 (with the exception of my husband and baby!!! ha ha). It’s kind of an unspoken rule for many circles to exchange gifts less than $50. Some are even set at a $25 cap. That limit, even though it’s helpful for your bank account, can make it challenging to find the right gift! I know I can’t be the only one feeling this way, so I’ve rounded up some of the best gift ideas for others that are less than $50. Whether it’s for your sister, your girlfriend, your boyfriend, whoever! — I got you covered! You don’t have to spend $100 on a gift for it to be relevant and feel like a ‘good’ gift.
